Registration Fees Waived for Non-Profit Cook Teams at Eggs on the Beach, Sept. 26
We’re excited to be hosting the second annual “Eggs on the Beach” EggFest Grilling Competition on Sept. 26, 2015 at Seascape Resort in Miramar Beach. Back by popular demand, we are inviting non-profit organizations to register a cook team and registration fees will be waived. As an added incentive, the non-profit team with the most “People’s Choice” votes will receive a $500 donation to their charity.
The non-profit category was a great success last year. Non-profit organizations were able to share information about their cause with tasters and the winning non-profit, the Emerald Coast Autism Center, enjoyed a $500 donation.
Our goal is make Eggs on the Beach the most cook friendly competition and to support the local community. Proceeds from Eggs on the Beach Egg Fest will benefit the Fisher House of the Emerald Coast. Located on Eglin Air Force Base, Fisher House provides a “home away from home” for military families to be together during treatment for serious illness or physical and/or occupational therapy.
The EggFest draws people who are passionate about cooking and smoking foods on the Big Green Egg, an all-in-one smoker and grill. The day is filled with tasty samples from more than 25 cook teams with attendees voting on their favorites. The winning team takes home a large Big Green Egg and the winning charity receives a $500 donation. Grilling demonstrations, live music by Chris Alvarado, and kids’ activities ensure the event fun for the entire family.
Bay Breeze Patio provides a large or extra-large Demo Big Green Egg for each team to cook on as well as provides lump charcoal, a fire starter, 6-foot table, tent, paper plates, plastic utensils, napkins and toothpicks. Teams simply bring their favorite recipes and their own ingredients.
For those who have thought of owning a Big Green Egg, Demo Eggs are pre-sold now at a discounted price and will be ready for pick up on Sept. 26 between 4 and 5 p.m. Demo Eggs come with a nest (metal stand) and a plate setter as well as a limited lifetime warranty.
Cook team registration is $50 for each team of four and team members receive a welcome bag with a commemorative t-shirt, Wayne’s Get Grillin’ Rub and promotional items from Big Green Egg.
